Illinois, Chicago and Cook County have issued new guidelines and restrictions as cases of COVID-19 continue to rise nationwide. The City of Chicago announced the reinstatement of certain restrictions on business travelers and updated its travel policies for Chicago hotels and restaurants in the area. In addition, the city and Chicago have announced a temporary ban on the use of public transportation in the Chicago area in response to the sharp increase in CO VID-18 activity in other states.
Commuting to work in the state can increase the risk of traveling to states with high rates of falls. If you decide to travel internationally, your travel plans may be disrupted and you may have to stay outside the US indefinitely. Many countries have taken measures to close borders and ban non-citizens from entering without notice.
That sequence includes three of the five states bordering Illinois (Iowa was listed in an earlier update). The corresponding lists for the designated states are the same, with travel advice for the suburb of Cook County defined as the state with the highest incidence.
Due to its proximity to Chicago, the county has a lot to offer both urban and outdoor tourists. The north of the state is home to many of the state's most popular tourist attractions, including Lake Michigan and the Great Lakes. Head south to northern neighbor Wisconsin, if you have one, and then south to Illinois for a few days.
Add to that the great weather, the good food, and many great places to see, and you have a lot more treasures to discover. Located in the heart of Chicago's most popular tourist destination, we have a few places not to miss in McHenry County.
This is America's largest railway museum, and rail fans, young and old, should not miss Union Station, where the Chicago, Illinois, Chicago and North American Railway Company (C & O) operates on scheduled days.
With over 35 different parks, you will definitely want to take a trip to McHenry Dam, and there are also ranger-led programs. In the Volo Bog State Natural Area, Lake Defiance is located in the middle of the park, which is particularly interesting when crossing the country. This is a three-hour instructor-led tour, so make sure you have plenty of time on your schedule for this stop. If you're looking for a different kind of crafts than the traditional craft market, you should check out the party at Hands - on Home Crafted. This way you can visit many manufacturers and help you plan an authentic visit with them.
The location is family owned and looks like a converted barn, so it will be a great place to dine during McHenry County Restaurant Week. If you want to revisit the decadent poblano peppers stuffed with them, you might decide to try something else. Lou Malnati is a local favorite, one of the top ten restaurants in Illinois and has been serving seafood for over 50 years. This group has definitely worked up an appetite, but we will be heading back to the restaurant after having dinner there as part of McHenry County Restaurants Week! You have a nice selection of seafood as well as a variety of other foods.
If you're looking for a way to spend the day actively with your family or a group of friends, visit Moraine State Park. There are many beautiful hiking and cycling trails that offer a variety of outdoor activities such as fishing and boating.

Travel restrictions and entry checks may apply to travellers entering the country or region from the current and widespread COVID-19. Other exceptions to this personal travel order are allowed for travel in conjunction with the parents - joint custody, family reunification and other special circumstances.
